1 Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship
The first on our list is the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship. This scholarship was launched by the Canadian Government. The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship is usually a first option for all students seeking scholarships to study in Canada.

To be considered for the Vanier Scholarship, you need to demonstrate leadership skills and a high standard of academic achievement in Masters’ programs in Engineering, Natural Sciences, Health, Social Sciences or Humanities.

The Canadian Government awards up to 167 scholarships annually.

Here are some other key points about this scholarship:
You should first be enrolled in a Ph.D. program at some Canadian university

The scholarship is valued at $50,000 per year for three years.

In order for a student to be eligible for this scholarship program, there are three equally weighted evaluation criteria: academic excellence, research potential, and leadership.

Candidates must be nominated by the Canadian Institution at which they want to study

2 International Entrance Scholarships at Lakehead University in Canada, 2018-2019
Scholarship Description: The Lakehead University is inviting applications for Undergraduate Entrance Scholarships. The international entrance scholarships are usually available to the top international students who are applying to Lakehead University for 2018-2019.

About University: The Lakehead University is a public research university with campuses in Thunder Bay and Orillia, Ontario, Canada. The University is non-denominational and provincially supported.

Degree Level:  The Entrance Scholarships are available to students who are pursuing the undergraduate programme.

Available Subject: Scholarships are awarded to study the subjects offered by the university.

Scholarship Benefits:
Academic Average (Canadian Equivalent) – Scholarship Total 4 (in Canadian dollars)
90.0% + – $30,000 ($7,500 x 4 years) 1

Application Procedure: Automatically considered. No scholarship application is required.

3 Ontario Graduate Scholarship
This scholarship program is funded by the provincial government to encourage excellence in graduate studies at the masters and doctoral levels. It is a merit-based scholarship and awards are available to students, including international students, in all disciplines of academic study. Key points of this scholarship include:

It is valued at $15,000 per year

The minimum duration the scholarship may be held for is two consecutive terms

Be an international student studying in Ontario with a student study permit to be eligible for this award

Application Process
A candidate should have achieved a first-class average, (minimum of A-/80%)*, in EACH of the last two full-time academic years (eligibility averages are based on grades up to August 31, 2017).

Transcripts are required from all post-secondary institutions attended, whether a degree was received or not; graduate transcripts are required even if fall 2017 is the first term in the program.

The same scholarship application form is also used to evaluate a candidate for Queen Elizabeth II Graduate Scholarship in Science and Technology (QEII-GSST), which is also valued at $15,000 per year.

Both scholarships are open to students but they can only pick one at a time. OGS  award for a minimum of two terms (receiving $10,000 total) or three terms (receiving $15,000 total). The awards are non-renewable.

An international student should submit his application by October 4, 2017.

Evaluation Criteria

Selection is based on the following three criteria:
A. Research Ability and Potential in Program Study, with a weight of 30-50% and as demonstrated by publications, conferences, presentations, and originality

B. Academic Excellence, with a weight of 30-50% and as demonstrated by academic transcripts, list of competitive scholarships, awards, and honors

C. Communication and Leadership Ability, with a weight of 0-20%, and as demonstrated by a list of relevant volunteer, leadership and academic work experience

4 Bursary Awards for Postgraduate Training at McGill University in Canada, 2018
Scholarship Description: The Department of Pediatrics at McGill University is offering two bursary awards for postgraduate training in a residency program. Awards are open to international Medical doctors who are graduates of medical schools listed in the FAIMER Directory.

About University: McGill University is a public research university in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It was established in 1821 by royal charter, granted by King George IV of the United Kingdom.

Available Subject: Awards are available at the Department of Pediatrics.

Scholarship Benefits: $55,000/year, no benefits

Degree Level: scholarships are available to students for pursuing postgraduate residency training programme.

Number of Scholarships: There are two bursary awards available.

Eligibility:
The first scholarship is the Clinical Bursary scholarship for Pediatrics: this scholarship is available each year to successful applicants who wish to pursue postgraduate training in a pediatric specialty after having completed 3 years of core training in pediatrics or its equivalent. 

The students who are awarded the scholarship will intend to pursue an academic career in pediatrics, upon completion of their training. It is important to note that the majority of the training in this scholarship will consist of clinical work.

The second scholarship is the Alan Ross Academic Bursary Award: This scholarship is available every year to successful applicants pursuing postgraduate training in a pediatric specialty after having completed three years of core training in pediatrics, or equivalent. 

It is important to note that all Successful candidates will be required to pursue an academic career in pediatrics upon completion of training. This scholarship is for students who will be training mostly in research and who might have a varying degree of clinical contact.

Eligible Nationalities: International students are eligible to apply.

Application Procedure:
Step 1: Applicants who are interested should advise the Program Director of their intention to apply to the program.

Step 2: all interested Applicants must qualify for the scholarship and must apply to postgraduate residency training through the Postgraduate Medical Education Office. All International students seeking the scholarship must apply for postgraduate residency training by the March 1st deadline.

Step 3: Interested and qualified applicants must Complete and submit the Bursary Award Application Form along with the required documents to Sally Crawford, Administrative and Student Affairs Coordinator (Email).
